Gameplay Rules

*Streaming/Capturing Game-play is mandatory. At least one player must stream or record video to capture gallery. This will be done to ensure that rules are followed and validate complaints*

GAME TEMPO

Fast breaks are only allowed off of turnovers (steals, air-balls, blocks) or rebounds by players playing the PG, SG, or SF position. If the PG,SG, or SF rebounds the ball you must wait until they pass half court on the break to pass ahead. If there is a turn over or airball, backboard only shots included, you can pass ahead at any point.If you inbound the ball after a made basket you must wait for your opponents defense to set up before initiating your offense. Walking or turbo-ing to the rim after crossing half court is not allowed, you can not immediately walk into PnR action or kick out to an open shooter. You are allowed to full court press at any time in the game but keep it realistic and do not do it all game. You must manually full court press the ball handler

OFFENSE

A. ROTATIONS 26 MIN. MAX IN REGULAR SEASON / 28 MIN. MAX DURING PLAYOFFS. When games go to overtime the minutes restrictions are no longer applied.

B. GAME-PLAY – IT IS MANDATORY to run plays and use your PLAYBOOK which will end up working to your advantage in scoring, we emphasize half court offense. We are not asking you to run the perfect offense with triangle etc but running PnR or ISO all game is not play calling. This will help with balancing and giving the game a more realistic feel. Every team has its own strengths but this doesn’t mean you can drive to the paint all game. Have some common sense and vary your scoring. BE REALISTIC. This is a SIM STYLE LEAGUE. If you don’t know what that is then this is probably not the league for you.

C. POSITIONS Players can play any position on their player card only, NO EXCEPTIONS!

DEFENSE

A. ON BALL DEFENSE must be played at all times! Zone is allowed in spots, but not for the entirety or majority of your game.

C. INBOUND PASS STEALING is ONLY allowed on side in-bounds past the half court marker. If the CPU accidentally performs an illegal steal you MUST RETURN THE BALL. If you are losing with under 1 minute left in the game inbound steals are legal no matter where the pass is made.

D. BE RESPECTFUL, KIND AND FAIR! Use sportsmanship if you see something that was caused by you accident (like forcing back court violations) give the ball back! Use common sense to determine if the CPU forced a cheesy turnover or if it was user error. Be kind and return the ball if the turnover was caused by a 2K glitch.

TRADES

A. There is a 5 game minimum before being eligible to trade players. After that, trade as much as you’d like.

B. Trades that involve players 85 overall and higher must be approved by the committee. Otherwise, if both owners agree, it will be automatically approved. The committee will reject trades that are too greatly slanted towards one team and advise you to restructure your deal.

PLAYOFF SEEDING/DRAFT ORDER

A minimum of 25 games played are required to be eligible for playoffs. Seeding and draft order will be determined by a combination of record AND activity. There will be a strict schedule that we will adhere to every season so that everyone can plan ahead

PENALTIES

This will be a low tolerance league and we expect everyone to follow the rules. New users will receive slightly more leeway due to an adjustment period. Rule violation will result in a forced win for the non-rule breaker and player suspensions in playoffs. Continually violating the rules will result in being removed from Ring Chasers

BUGS/DISCONNECTS

If users encounter a disconnect due to any generic 2K server errors the game outcome will be determined dependent on the following

Disconnect in the 1st quarter - Game to be replayed

Disconnect in any other quarter with > 20 point lead - Leading team will receive the win
Disconnect in 2nd Half with >10 point lead = Leading team will receive option of win or replay

All other scenarios are eligible to be replayed. Admins may force wins in certain scenarios
